On Thursday, India made history by successfully docking one satellite onto another. Joining two small crafts in space is an advanced and complex technological feat and only three other countries have accomplished this docking mission. India became the fourth country after the United States, Russia, and China with such technology. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) happily announced on X, “Spacecraft docking successfully completed! A historic moment“.
The team at ISRO received much recognition and appreciation from the top echelons of the country for their feat. India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi expressed himself by stating, “Congratulations to our scientists at ISRO and the entire space fraternity for the successful demonstration of space docking of satellites. It is a significant stepping stone for India’s ambitious space missions in the years to come.”
