Meet the woman of the hour, Janet Hamilton, who has lived her whole life with one foot on the break and one foot on the gas pedal and now finally feels aligned within and has found her purpose, she is now living in full throttle and loving life!
Janet has been on a Personal Development Journey for almost two decades and today serves as a Life Coach, Podcaster, Highly Sensitive Empath, Intuitive Healer, and is Trauma Aware. She has awakened to her calling and attained inner peace, helping others find the unique anomaly within. After feeling burned out, Janet decided to take a leap of faith and paved a new path full of possibilities and opportunities. She healed, planned, built, and got ready to launch both herself and her brainchild called “The Anomaly Factor!”
She also still works with her husband, Mark, at Durham Combustion Limited, which they created together approximately thirty years ago based on his expertise and experience as an Instrumentation Technician working on Industrial Boilers. Mark does the field service with their other employees and she is the Office Manager, Bookkeeper, Health & Safety Representative, Payroll Administrator, Purchasing, Payables, Shipper / Receiver, etc.
Janet fondly adds, “I do everything with loving intentions; I love everyone! Authenticity and integrity are how I conduct my life. Well, I loved everyone but myself. LOL! I didn’t know I had to. I am also a Type A Personality, a Perfectionist, OCD, a wife, a mom, an aunt, a sister, a friend, a mentee, a mentor, a coach, and then some and there are reasons for the way I am, the way I am and how I operate in the world. This has been my passion for the last twenty years, personal development, the mind, and the body. As a result of the aforementioned, I am very analytical, organized, resourceful, honest, and fair.”

Addressing all of the Boiler, Combustion, Instrumentation, Electrical and Control field service requirements, Durham Combustion Limited provides expert service for pneumatic, DCS and PLC-based boiler controls and burner management systems.
Janet states, “What sets us apart from our competitors is mostly my husband’s skill set as an Instrumentation Technologist and that he has a wealth of experience with both old and new systems in the instrumentation industry. We are also very specialized and considered an Emergency Service and offer a four-hour response.”
All About the Anomaly Factor
“I am an old soul, I have a lot of experience and wisdom in my body, I grew up with absolutely no boundaries, and I can hold space for others to heal.”
For most of her life, Janet has felt like an anomaly. She viewed herself as different like something was wrong with her and now she knows that she is a unique anomaly and that she is supposed to be, just as everyone meant to be.
At The Anomaly Factor, Janet uses her Compassionate Inquiry, Transparent Communication, and Relational Life Therapy to help others heal their pain and suffering. She also teaches mindset, self-love, and Emotional Intelligence, and uses EMDR and Somatic Experience techniques.
Janet first heals, then deals, with the self-sabotaging, defence mechanisms, and limiting beliefs that keep one stuck, and prevent one from moving forward, dreaming, believing, and achieving the abundant life one has always desired and deserved! She uses the power of manifestation and visualisation to help them live their dream life.
Janet strongly believes, “If we don’t have peace within, how are we to have peace in the world? It’s time you choose you! This is my passion and my purpose to heal.”
The long-term objective at The Anomaly Factor is to heal and raise awareness of trauma and heal as many people as possible using Janet’s top-notch methods but also in community, in healing circles and volunteering and teaching her programs, she hopes to build a team to work with collaborate, continue to grow, and raise the collective consciousness. To spread her word loud and clear, she hopes to author a book, create a magazine, and interview people on her podcast.

Technology stands in Janet’s way and she has learned to count on, rely on, and trust others, who are experts in their field of work. This was not an easy task for her, to be open to receive and be supported, loved, and encouraged by like-minded individuals; she is just being and letting and allowing life to unfold as it is meant to. She says, “We are all right where we need to be on this journey of a roller coaster ride of our life!”

Challenges of an Entrepreneur
The most difficult thing an entrepreneur has to face or endure is most likely the same, navigating and continuing to run and employ its company and people and serve its customers during those times, their safety, their needs, their mental health, etc.
As self-employed entrepreneurs, Janet and her husband have self-taught themselves everything they know. As leaders and founders, they have constantly taken courses to grow both on a personal and professional forefront. As a small business, learning, growing, and playing in a Corporate World is challenging at best, and change is a constant; it’s one of the guarantees in life, along with taxes!
The Way to Succeed is Doing What You Do the Best
For Janet, success means doing what she loves the most. She and her husband consider themselves successful as they have founded and operated Durham Combustion Limited for approximately thirty years and have been able to employ others as well. With years of experience and a high emotional intelligence, Janet is a conscious leader, who tries to live and serve her family and society with loving intentions which is the most important thing in her life.
She adds, “We are all equals in my opinion, our genes and our experiences are the only things that make us different, compassion, empathy and kindness, authenticity and honesty follow.”
Janet has tried to live in the moment most of her life; if she hadn’t it would have been overwhelming. Years ago, Janet and her husband dreamt of this life, not knowing that it was possible and yet they have made it! All of their life’s ambitions have come to fruition and now it’s their time to rise and shine. With constant hard work, resilience, and unwavering passion, they have curated a life they truly love and cherish.

She also admires and looks to outstanding leaders like Obama, Oprah, Mother Theresa, Elanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, etc. as they were all trailblazers and humanitarians.

Durham Combustion Limited implemented ISO 9001 years ago which is a certification for high standards, it is also registered with the Technical Standards Safety Authority. The company belonged to the Clarington Board of Trade in the past and years ago had been recognized by them as a long-standing 15-year member of the board. It currently belongs to the Bobcaygeon Board of Trade.
