Redefining the holistic skincare industry, Ida has secured her footprint as a comprehensive and top-notch personality in the industry. She is well-known as a self-employed holistic aesthetician, reflexologist, energy healer, and more.
The Foundation Story of Esthetics by Ida
Initially, Ida pursued a career in a medical laboratory and analyzed body samples for over 12 years. With her limited knowledge of holistic viewpoints, destiny played its role, and her career took a leap of faith.
Ida fondly recalls, “The universe had different plans for me when they downsized me in 1993. Serendipitous events influenced me to participate in a reflexology program, eventually leading me to learn aesthetics. The stress of being downsized affected my health. After not getting any results from my family doctor, I sought advice from a naturopath.”
He helped Ida with her health and saw potential in her. So, he encouraged her to learn the holistic skincare line Zanqara. That’s how her holistic aesthetics business journey began.
Challenges act as a Catalyst for New Opportunities
Ida states challenges can be frustrating but one can learn valuable lessons from their hardships. After overcoming challenges, there are many new insights that one learns that can be transformed into opportunities for the present and future. Hence, the completion of the end goal motivates Ida. Additionally, persistence, curiosity, creativity, and a positive attitude are essential components that help in overcoming challenges.
In 2024, Ida celebrated 30 years of her salon business and continues to add many successful years. She adds, “It keeps me strong and connected with people I’ve known for years. Some people would have retired by now. I find my job and people interesting. Also, I place reasonably attainable expectations and goals on myself at a specific time. If I don’t achieve them right away, that’s also okay. I maintain a calm, positive attitude throughout.”

Ida’s way of ‘Sharing is Caring and Growing’

In 2022-23, Ida updated and added informative social media posts to her blog and Medium to make them more visible. The blog article links made it easier for her to share the information with the appropriate clients. Brainz Magazine liked her Instagram page and, after an interview, invited her to be an executive contributor in September 2023. She shared informative articles on how her experience and knowledge helped her family with health issues, first aid, and comparative analysis of different ingredients. Ida is also proud of her YouTube video demonstrating sustainability: “How to Reuse and Recharge a ZeroWater Filter.”
Experiences that Influenced Shaping Ida’s Professional Path
Ida became a laboratory technologist because she wanted to help people indirectly with their health. Ironically, she redirected her path to work directly with people. Today, she is a multi-faceted visionary in the aesthetics industry earning her success from the combined knowledge of her clinical laboratory, holistic aesthetics, and spiritual energy healing practices. Many people have influenced her in her life. Her clinical laboratory experience allowed her to understand mechanisms constantly happening in the body. Her holistic aesthetics educated her on nutrition, supplements and how stress relief can be like medicine. Her energy healing helped her tap into her problem-solving, stress and pain relief. It’s important to utilize whatever knowledge one has to suit the circumstance and Ida is best known for incorporating it in her offerings.
Energy Work to the Rescue
Ida’s spiritual connection with energy work has greatly influenced her personal growth. She has read many books on the subject. The energy work has helped her deal with stressful moments and health issues. She practised and exchanged energy healing treatments with fellow healers for over 25 years monthly. She incorporates energy healing with her foot detox treatments. It recharges her after she completes a session with a client. Regular meditation enhances her intuition, which helps her deal with problem-solving. Most problems are solved when she relaxes and stops thinking about them.
Ida’s Take on the Current Aesthetics Industry
Aesthetics enhances the skin’s ability to speed up new cell growth for appearance. Ida wants aestheticians to be more significant in encouraging new cell growth from burns or injury. The medical system doesn’t have time for it, the providers are overworked. People can shave weeks of healing time off from using these methods.
Occasionally, Ida will help a client with a burn or an open sore. Her creativity has demonstrated unique ways to help the skin heal. She talks and shares many insights about it in her articles that can help people save time and money and also find solutions promptly.
Turning Wisdom into Real-Time Practice
Ida’s salon is her go-to place to alleviate household accidents from wounds and trauma. She talks about some of them in her articles. In her younger days, she hiked and participated in fast-walking charity events. The first thing she would do to recover is to soak her feet in her foot detox device. It relieved the pain and soreness immediately. It is also helpful for reducing the swelling and itchiness of bee stings and terrible mosquito bite attacks she obtained from camping. She doesn’t need to use a band-aid for minor kitchen-related nicks and cuts in her hands when she utilizes her therapies to quicken up the healing process. With her knowledge, she has helped her husband with muscle pain in his sore back. Ida’s extensive knowledge has helped her in many ways to heal her everyday minor and real-time accidents.
Moreover, Ida frequently joins Facebook groups where aestheticians and holistic aestheticians share information. Some of these aestheticians are also massage therapists. She gained much knowledge from them and enhanced some techniques from YouTube to address some of the issues of aches and pains her clients came in with.
Ida shares some of her many experiences where she has integrated her long-standing experiences into reality. She states, “I refinished a coffee table with a fragile wood veneer that was too thin to sand. I used a Shellac nail polish removal technique to remove the finish off it. I placed soaked acetone gauze squares on the coffee table and covered it with Aluminum foil. After a day or so, the wood veneer was ready to stain. I’ve used Shellac polish to strengthen and imitate leather after a leather burn. It still looks good years later. Their wide colour selection helps achieve a close colour match.”
Being a self-employed leader who works independently and educates people on social media. During COVID-19, Ida learned of copper’s biocidal properties. She made a YouTube video, “Copper Foils Germs,” about how copper could be creatively used and sent to friends, family, clients, Facebook groups, etc. The rest of her information is on her Medium, aesthetics website blog, or Brainz magazine website.
Ida Pens her version of Success
“Success is feeling fulfilled for being recognized for my achievements. Having clients trust and respect my opinion, having a comfortable home and having friends and family that care and respect you. Success is also having good health.”
