If one wants to redesign their current life and career and excel personally and professionally to greater heights, then a life and career coach is the ultimate answer. What sets a life and career coach apart is their ability to transform stagnant lives and help one recognize their self-worth to achieve their life and career goals. One such remarkable life and career coach, who is guiding change through RESCRIPT Your Story LLC, is Dr. Colleen Georges. She has helped thousands of people over the last two decades rescript their stories and live fulfilling and happy lives.
She provides life and career coaching and resume writing to clients across the nation and delivers workshops and speaking engagements for corporations, educational institutions, non-profits, healthcare organizations, professional associations, and beyond. She is not only a life and career coach but also an author, TEDx speaker, trainer, and more.
A Profound Journey
Dr. Colleen’s journey began at 14 with her first job as a camp counselor. She realized quickly that she loved helping others and became a therapeutic assistant for teenagers in foster care. She then received her master’s and doctoral degrees in counseling psychology. In graduate school, she discovered a love for working with college students providing career, academic, and overall life advising. After completing her doctorate, she served as a university department director, started teaching counseling and leadership courses part-time, and launched her coaching business on the side in 2008.
In 2010, she left her full-time student affairs leadership position to run her coaching business, RESCRIPT Your Story LLC. After leaving her salaried job for entrepreneurship, Dr. Colleen has never looked back. She has been working each day since then to accomplish her dream and help her clients live their best lives.

Moreover, my clients appreciate that I have counseling training and licensure that allows me to support them with the mental and emotional aspects of goal pursuit.”
Building a Strong Foundation from the Beginning
Fortunately, Dr. Colleen experienced considerably more rewards in her coaching work than obstacles. Right from the initial stage of the business, she has stayed a notch up. When she launched her business in 2008, she taught herself SEO strategies, making her website easy to find. This means less time is needed for social media marketing, and also as Dr. Colleen loves to learn, she is always discovering new industry trends and keeping up with them.
Further, since Dr. Colleen has been in business for 16 years, she has a robust referral and returning client network. These things have led to steady clients over the years. However, there are slower months of the year, like July and December. During these times, Dr. Colleen reminds herself not to worry about business and instead focuses her energy on projects she hasn’t had time for and spends time on personal rejuvenation.
Keep Going, Glowing, and Growing
With more than a decade into the business, Dr. Colleen has come a long way. What started as a small side hustle has thrived into a comprehensive, full-time main hustle. Like a seed blossoming into a beautiful flower, Dr. Colleen spent her early years with big dreams, like doing a TEDx talk, writing a book, creating a planner and gratitude journal, publishing articles in psychological journals, and earning industry certifications. With her dedication and unwavering passion, Dr. Colleen has accomplished her goals and more. Now, it’s mostly about continuing to serve others while living a fulfilling life and spending time with the people she loves.
A Project, A Passion, and a Wonderful Practice
Dr. Colleen’s newest project, which she launched in January 2024, is her first 12-month goal achievement group. There are nine amazing women in the group. They have 90-minute monthly virtual meetings and in between they have a WhatsApp group chat where they share weekly Monday Morning Motivations and where the women share their challenges and triumphs, provide mutual encouragement and ideas, and celebrate one another’s big and small wins.
Source of Inspiration
Dr. Colleen started her coaching business in 2008. She had her son, Josh, in 2009, and left her full-time salaried job to run her business from home while caring for her son in 2010. Josh has been her greatest inspiration to be the best person and professional she can be. He is 15 now and is her best friend. Josh has been his mother’s biggest cheerleader and support system and a constant source of motivation. Dr. Colleen’s life and work are guided by the value of setting a positive example for her son, utilizing the resources her business provides to support his dreams and future, and creating a schedule that allows her to spend as much time outside of work with him. Being a mom has taught her that life isn’t just about work, it’s also about taking care of our physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational well-being.
Cherishing Moments of Accomplishment
Dr. Colleen is addicted to learning and being an eternal student, so she has earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, master’s and doctoral degrees in counseling psychology, a Licensed Professional Counselor credential, and 30+ certifications in life coaching, career coaching, psychology, and leadership.
Some of her notable recognitions include her book, RESCRIPT the Story You’re Telling Yourself, securing eight awards and her business earning recognition as a top coaching provider from three award-granting organizations. This simply reinforces Dr. Colleen’s dedication to always providing her clients with the best service possible.
The True Essence of Success
For Dr. Colleen, career success is defined not just by her business achievements, but by the positive changes in her clients’ lives. She believes that success lies in both the small ways one moves towards their goals, as well as the moments when one fully achieves them.
Dr. Colleen also experiences success with increasing numbers of clients annually through both organic search, as well as returning business and referrals. Each is important to her as the former signifies that her SEO strategies are working and the latter indicates that her clients trust her to come back for additional support and entrust her with referrals of those they care about.
Dr. Colleen Pearls of Wisdom to Budding Entrepreneurs and Leaders
“My advice is: don’t wait, initiate! We spend too much time waiting for the right time, opportunity, and support. If there’s no time, see what you can move around or eliminate to make time. If there’s no opportunity, research what you need to do to create it. If there’s no support, launch your idea on your own and build your team of supporters later!”
