Healthcare is a noble profession, and the leaders, providers, and professionals in this sector are no less than warriors bringing significant changes in their patient’s lives. While attending medical schools and learning about benevolence, patient autonomy, empathy, collaboration, and more, healthcare leaders are known for their ethical practices and measures. However, in the last few decades, healthcare has become a corporate function where everything seems like a facade. However, as the saying goes, “Every cloud has a silver lining“- there is Kianor Shah, a visionary, dentist, entrepreneur, innovator, and more, who is changing the narrative and fighting against all odds.
Dr. Kianor is the Founder of the Global Summits Institute and the Co-founder of the Dental AI Association. Standing tall and strong among giant corporations, he has stood the test of time and transformed flawed and violated healthcare systems into ethical ones. His life’s mission is to continue to revive the healthcare industry to all its glory.
Leading from the Forefront
Dr. Kianor is a purpose-driven leader who is always motivated to help people and serve them. So, when he took up dentistry, he had found the catch. It was a perfect blend of finding a profession that allows you to fulfil your passion and become financially independent to raise a family and give them a good lifestyle. This balance is quite challenging, but Dr. Kianor was able to strike it right. Additionally, he also overcame numerous challenges, be it hearing a ‘NO’ multiple times during his initial days, working along the clock to make ends meet, or facing the ground reality of how the healthcare industry works.
Today, Dr. Kianor believes that good leaders have a vision and are always on the field and at the forefront of accomplishing their vision. In his two decades of clinical practice, Dr. Kianor has always made it a point to understand the needs and desires of his patients and provide them with an efficient outcome. This, in turn, helps the patient and also creates a win-win situation for the practice. Making this approach excellent for the clinical side.
On the contrary, for leadership, it’s a different ball game. Dr. Kianor emphasizes, how building the best team is the way to success. It’s not necessary to have a large volume of people or a thousand affiliated to make an impact. Even with a small bunch of loyal people, who share the same vision and values, one can cause impact in an industry or any endeavor.
Learn Comprehensively to Earn Exponentially
Apart from being a dentist, Dr. Kianor is also known for his business acumen, which is the result of pursuing an MBA. His varied experience and outstanding skillset stand true to the quote, “Knowledge is power“, and Dr. Kianor has acquired it full-fledgedly. He fondly says, “The more you educate yourself, the more valuable you become to society, the more you increase your skills, your knowledge.”
As a kid, Dr. Kianor has had the privilege of travelling to many countries. To date, he has travelled over 60 countries and encountered different cultures, norms, experiences, customs, and more. While his travel was filled with many memorable moments, he has learned some valuable lessons that have shaped him as a person and professional. He states, “People are inherently good in their hearts. It’s mournful to see what we have done on this earth by separating each other based on borders, based on all of these cultures. There are people we find to be great, there are people we find to be strange. But if you find a common point with everyone, you find yourself in a very good place. I encourage people also to expand their knowledge about other people’s norms and cultures, which will lead to more collaboration.”
Dr. Kianor also emphasizes the importance of knowing the business side of things. As a healthcare professional, one should not just delegate or trust someone to handle their management or business. They should learn to do it themselves by attaining the required skillset. This will give them an upper hand in comparison to their competitors.
Revolutionizing Healthcare with AI
Dr. Kianor has practised in many offices and did many gigs during his MBA days. As a travel healthcare professional, he got the opportunity to spend time with doctors and specialists in dentistry. Here, he understood the problems prevailing in the healthcare system. After finishing his MBA, Dr. Kianor started his practice and focused on it. Eventually, he realized many organizations were corrupt, and the big giant names were misleading people under the name of healthcare. With efficient amounts of funds, the people of power were spending a huge chunk in advertising and marketing to influence the science and education students and professionals. Identifying all these severe problems, Dr. Kianor created a solution, he founded the Global Summits Institute with a solid mission.
In reality, one only needs a doctor, a patient, and technology in the healthcare industry. So, his ultimate goal now is to utilize technologies like artificial intelligence, first of all, to remove these third parties from the equation. And second, to improve the quality of care and access for patients, versus allowing artificial intelligence to take over humanity. So, one has to be smart, and hence Dr. Kianor sets limitations and boundaries, he also co-founded the Dental AI Association, where they share knowledge of what’s acceptable and what’s not, and what the opportunities are with artificial intelligence to improve the quality of human life.
The Art of Work-Life Balance
Dr. Kianor juggles many responsibilities and serves each of his roles with utmost dedication and passion. Hence, his nature of work can get overwhelming and also hamper his well-being. So, to maintain balance and lead a healthy life, he practices sports especially table tennis as it is good for hand-to-eye coordination. He also indulges in outdoor and leisure activities with his family and spends quality time with them.
Work-life balance is a fluid concept, if one lacks in an area, it affects all the other areas too. That’s why, we have a lot of a silent epidemic amongst doctors who have mental health issues who cannot attend to one area, and then that causes depression across the rest. So you have to try to create the best version of yourself if you’re going to be in health care and care for others.
Flossing up a Promising Future
Dr. Kianor’s goal is to expand the Dental AI Association worldwide. And, it has just launched in North America and Europe and has begun tapping into Africa and Asia. They also have some guests at their executive meetings from Latin America. Once that’s a global operation, and hopefully, it’ll be in every country in the world.
As AI continues to mark its presence in every aspect from practice management to supplies management, DAIA will become the largest association, which is solely focused on a patient-to-doctor relationship. The company aims to be in a position where they have governance and standards of care and comes with the journals, books, educational products, and so forth uniform its message across the world versus all of these corrupt local and national, supposed leadership concepts which have failed everyone miserably. Hence, establishing DAIA will open new doors to healthcare and be the ultimate ray of sunshine.
Additionally, Dr. Kianor wants to start building hospitals for dentists. Currently, they are looking at locations in Los Angeles, Riyadh, the Dominican Republic, and Nigeria, and other places where they are going to launch these hospitals shaped like teeth representing a dental identity, which are fully AI-operated, and bring hundreds of doctors together in one place. These doctors will eliminate a tremendous problem for everyone. Any city about two million and above could benefit from this.
With 24*7 availability, advanced technological features, affordable costs, and more, these hospitals will serve patients with quality care at maximum capacity. Dr. Kainor adds, “We got over 140 executives on this project. Once we launch the pilot and work out the details, then it is hopefully going to be a global affair, which is part of my legacy project. I mentioned we need three items to cause a paradigm shift, and this is what healthcare needs. The patient portion will be the Dental Hospital Association, the doctor component will be the Global Summit Institute, and the technology component, which is going to be the Dental AI Association. That’s all we need to cause a global paradigm shift.”
Dr. Kianor’s Pearl White Words of Wisdom for Aspiring Leaders and Entrepreneurs
“If you don’t fail, you can’t succeed. I encountered the word no almost daily. But after a successful two-decade career, today, the nos have turned into yeses. So, establish credibility, don’t get discouraged, and above all be persistent. Probably, persistence is the most powerful thing that you will carry with you if you want to become an innovator, an industry leader, or an educator. And with time, the world will notice you and you will be able to do a lot of good if that’s your intent.”
